1994 Warriors - District 6 Baseball Champions : I've just been talking with my old friend from high school, Allen Coble. He started a company called Sports Evolution. It is located in the Gallactic Ice Building in Altoona. He is (hopefully) going to start training athletes here at West Branch. I'm trying to recruit him to make my elementary basketball girls into a well trained machine! I dug out an old photo, since I haven't seen Allen in probably over 10 years!

Allen and I played baseball together in Little League, Four Leaf All-Stars, and of course in high school. We had a blast being idiotic high school kids. Here is me (I'm hard to see, I'm the catcher on the front left.), my best friend to this day John Prestash (front center), and Allen Coble (front right), our good friend and starting shortstop.

My mom took this picture and it's a really nice one. It was an old Kodak photo and kind of dark, so I added a Gold Tone to enhance the sunset. It makes me think of Clint Eastwood walking off into the sunset after earning his vengeance.

We were fresh off of revenge, too. Mount Union beat our 1991 team in the District 6 Championship game. We beat Mount Union here for the D-6 Crown, and it was special to avenge that earlier, hard-fought loss.

Now, the D-6 game is played in Blair County Ballpark, where the Curve play. It didn't exist in 1994, so we played at Altoona's Memorial Field. It was a nice, old style ball park.

P-O at Four Leaf : I went to the P-O at Four Leaf game tonight. I took a lot of pictures of a great guy, Chad Speigle. His grandpa was my high school coach for years, he was a student in my fifth grade classroom, I've coached his cousins Mariah, Victoria, and Rebecca, his Aunt Jane works with me...you get the idea. This kid is a great guy.

I didn't get to take too many photos since I didn't get to the game until about the third inning. But, I took some pictures of my cousin Mark Curtis from P-O. Also, some 4-Leafers like a great guy from my class last year, Dale Confer...and a few more. Unfortunately, 4-Leaf lost a close one in extra innings.

Sunday Night Spikes Game : They honored the Negro Leagues Sunday night at the Spikes game. They wore throw back uniforms for the occaision, giving me an excuse to use sepia tone photos. I still believe all baseball photos should be sepia tone. To me, old baseball photos are artwork.

I'm finally beginning to use Shutter Mode on my camera successfully to freeze action. If you like baseball, check out some of my color photos, too. There's also a panorama of Medlar Field at sunset that turned out pretty well.
